2026 POWER BANK GUIDE

2026 Power Bank Rules: CCC Certification Adds Traceability QR Codes — What to Check Before Flying

After China tightened power bank boarding requirements in 2025, the CCC certification system for power banks is changing again in 2026. Starting in 2026, certain newly issued CCC-certified power banks will need to display a traceability QR code next to the CCC mark. For users who frequently travel to or within mainland China, choosing a power bank is no longer only about capacity and charging speed — whether the certification information can be verified is becoming equally important.

From “Does it have CCC?” to “Can the information be verified?” — What changes in 2026?

From June 28, 2025, China tightened requirements for carrying power banks on flights. Power banks without a CCC mark, with an unclear CCC mark, or belonging to recalled models or batches are not allowed on domestic flights within China. This made many travellers notice for the first time that the CCC mark on a power bank is not just a general product logo, but is directly connected to product safety certification and flight-carrying requirements.

In 2026, the CCC certification mark system further adds a traceability element. According to the relevant official arrangements, from March 1, 2026, newly issued CCC-certified power banks within the pilot scope must display a traceability QR code next to the CCC mark before they can be shipped from factories, sold, imported, or used in other business activities. From March 1, 2027, all certified products within the pilot scope will be further included under the new requirements.

What is a traceability QR code? It is not a normal product QR code

The new code is not an ordinary brand marketing QR code. It is a traceability QR code linked to CCC certification information. After scanning it, consumers or relevant authorities can view core details such as the certification certificate number, manufacturer or producer name, product specification and model, certificate status, and issuing certification body. In other words, the system is moving from “there is a CCC mark” to “the information can be scanned, checked, and traced.”

For everyday consumers, this gives one more way to verify product information. After scanning the traceability code, you can compare the model shown on the product with the corresponding certification information, making the purchase process more transparent.

Important: A traceability QR code does not automatically mean a power bank can be carried on board

The 2026 traceability QR code requirement is mainly part of the reform of the CCC certification mark and product traceability system. When taking domestic flights within China, travellers still need to check whether the CCC mark is clear, whether the product belongs to a recalled model or batch, and whether the capacity and Wh rating comply with airline and civil aviation requirements. It should not be understood simply as “if it has a QR code, it can definitely be carried on board.”

Buying a power bank in 2026? Check these 4 places first

Consumers do not need to study every technical certification clause. In everyday shopping, you can start with the markings on the device itself: whether the CCC mark is clear, whether the product carries a traceability QR code, whether the capacity and Wh rating are properly shown, and whether the model information can be matched to the certification details.

THE HOOD POWER BANK

Under the new rules, charging speed is not the only thing that matters — complete safety information matters too

For brands, the new requirements are not simply about printing one more QR code. From battery cells and product structure to certification, labelling, and product traceability data, every part needs proper management. THE HOOD’s two main power bank series, including the Qi2.2 Semi-Solid-State Magnetic Power Bank and C1030 MagPower, both include CCC certification and product traceability information as part of their product safety configuration.

Qi2.2 25W Semi-Solid-State Magnetic Power Bank

This 10000mAh model is built around Qi2.2 25W magnetic wireless fast charging and also supports up to 30W wired fast charging. It uses semi-solid-state battery technology and adds a built-in stand and portable lanyard design, making it more suitable for users who want a higher-spec travel and everyday charging solution.

In the 2026 safety and traceability environment, charging specifications are only one part of the story. CCC certification, model information, and a traceability QR code are also important parts of this series.

C1030 MagPower 10000mAh Magnetic Power Bank

C1030 is also a 10000mAh model. It supports PD 20W wired fast charging and up to 15W magnetic wireless charging, with a body weight of approximately 186g. The series is positioned as a lighter everyday option, with multiple Disney, Sanrio, and illustrated designs that combine daily charging with visual design.

CCC certification and traceable product information are also part of the safety configuration, making it suitable for users who value portability, design, and travel convenience.

Qi2.2 Semi-Solid-State vs C1030: Which one should you choose?

If you care more about next-generation Qi2.2 magnetic fast charging, higher wired output, and semi-solid-state battery technology, the Qi2.2 series will be the better fit. If you prefer a lighter everyday power bank with more design options, C1030 MagPower is the simpler and more direct choice. They are positioned differently, but under the 2026 power bank safety environment, CCC certification and traceable product information are key priorities for both.

Travelling within mainland China? Check your power bank before departure

If you are preparing to take a domestic flight within China, it is worth spending one minute checking your power bank before leaving. Make sure the CCC mark and product details are clearly visible. If it is a newer traceability-marked product, you can also scan the QR code to verify the information. At the same time, always check the latest lithium battery and carry-on baggage requirements from your airline.

FAQ: 2026 Power Banks, CCC Certification and Traceability QR Codes

Q1: From 2026, do all older power banks immediately need a QR code?

No. From March 1, 2026, the requirement first applies to newly issued CCC-certified products within the pilot scope, with transitional arrangements. From March 1, 2027, all certified products within the pilot scope will be further required to follow the new requirements.

Q2: If a power bank has a CCC traceability QR code, does that mean it can definitely be carried on a plane?

Not necessarily. The QR code is part of certification traceability. When flying, you should still confirm that the CCC mark is clear, that the product is not part of a recall, and that the capacity complies with the airline and civil aviation requirements.

Q3: What information can the traceability QR code show?

According to official information, it can show key certification details such as the certification certificate number, manufacturer or producer name, product specification and model, certificate status, and issuing certification body.

Q4: Before travelling to mainland China, how should I check my power bank?

Check whether the CCC mark, product model, capacity, and Wh rating are clearly visible on the device. If it uses the newer traceability mark, you can scan the QR code to verify the certification details. You should also check the latest airline baggage and lithium battery requirements before departure.

From a single mark to a traceable product information chain

The 2025 flight-carrying requirements made more consumers pay attention to CCC certification, while the 2026 traceability QR code reform pushes the focus further from “does it have a mark?” to “can the certification information be verified?” For everyday users, a power bank is still a common mobile accessory. But because it contains a lithium battery, safety, certification, and data transparency are becoming increasingly important.

When choosing a power bank, fast charging, high capacity, and good design still matter. Under the new regulatory environment, however, clear product information, reliable certification, and traceable data should also be on your buying checklist.

Reference: Official information from the Civil Aviation Administration of China and China market regulation / CCC certification authorities. Airline, airport, and certification requirements may change; before travelling, always refer to the latest announcements from the relevant official authorities and your operating airline.
